News from Our correspondent (Yang Honglun) On The 24th, in Changchun International Automobile City, a steel structure grid with a floor area of 15,680 square meters, about the size of 37 standard basketball court, rose smoothly along 40 box columns to a height of 9.6 meters and was fixed. The final assembly workshop of Audi FAW new energy vehicle project was successfully completed. At this time, only 26 days after the project started on June 28, this global attention of the new energy vehicle project, once again let the world witness the “Chinese speed”.

The “beam” in the final assembly workshop of Audi FAW New energy vehicle project is composed of steel structure and weighs 781 tons. It adopts the overall lifting process “upper beam”, which is known as the grid lifting project in engineering construction.

In the grid lifting scene, the reporter saw: 40 groups of workers skilled operation of NUMERICAL control equipment, in accordance with the specifications for lifting operations, the huge grid to the naked eye indistinguishable slow lifting. Li Xiang, the construction manager of the third bidding section of audi FAW new energy vehicle project assembly workshop, told reporters, “It takes 4 hours to complete the upgrade. The overall improvement of such a large grid requires high operating accuracy. Even millimeter errors may affect the overall strength and engineering quality of the grid.”

“Thanks to more scientific design and construction, as well as the maturity of prefabricated construction techniques, the construction speed of this project is remarkable for the industry.” Li Xiang said.

The completion of the grid upgrade is the first unit of the final assembly workshop of Audi FAW New energy vehicle project. The steel structure installation began on 3rd of this month. “All the components are assembled in the factory, placed on the site according to the factory mathematical model, and then welded and assembled with greater speed and precision than ever before.” Li xiang said.

The final assembly workshop of Audi FAW New energy vehicle project covers a floor area of more than 130,000 square meters, and all grid upgrades are scheduled to be completed by August 24, ensuring that the overall project will be put into production in 2024 as planned.
